Operating across three key properties in Southern NSW: Holbrook (1,950Ha), Jingellic (700Ha) and Walwa (400Ha), our clients operate a composite and Red Angus breeding program involving 1,850 breeders in strict commercial conditions. The Role This role is based on the Holbrook property, which also serves as the operations Central Hub and hosts the stud herd and is the base for breeding and sale activities. You will play a key part in the day-to-day operations, including general animal husbandry, stock movements, pasture management, and during busy times you will also assist on the Jingellic property. We are looking for someone who understands the fundamentals of cattle husbandry and is willing to get hands-on in various farming activities, including fencing, machinery operation, and property maintenance. You will also be involved in maintaining records and data through AgriWebb and KoolCollect. The business is committed to staff development with opportunities made available for further education through courses (e.g., Pasture principles, Benchmarking with Agrista, Pasture and agronomy field days) and management of key areas (Agronomy, Rotational grazing, Genetics). There is also long-term potential to specialise in various aspects of the business, i.e., the female breeding herd or bulls. The Employer : Our clients are a successful and progressive family-owned business , through generations, they've continued to develop their business and improve their herd's genetics with a focus on breeding high-quality and productive Australian Beef Composite and Red Angus cattle to provide a competitive advantage for commercial beef producers. While Holbrook is the base for activities, the Jingellic and Walwa properties are the home of the tropical bull breeding enterprise and where stud heifers are grown out and joined. The total herd includes 1,000 stud composite cows, 650 composite cows bred for Northern conditions, and 200 Red Angus cows. The family aim to produce bulls that improve profitability per hectare for commercial producers through intensive genetic selection, the latest technologies, and old-school stockmanship. The properties have been well maintained with continual infrastructural improvements, including laneways across the properties, new ProWay yards, all-steel cattle yards (with 2 main sets having hydraulic crushes), and good fencing.
